RAINBOW DAY - day 42 MALCHUT sh b'YESOD

PSALMS OF MY SOUL
ספירת העומר

Kabbalistic Sephirat HaOmer day 42, Rainbow Day*, 6 full weeks of the Omer
Malchut sh b'Yesod
Covenant in a Rainbow

How do I flow into Malchut, revealing G*d's Light
with all Divine energies running through me?
How do I receive, reveal, and express my ultimate expression of individuality and G*d?
What actions in Yesod unite me in my interaction with G*d?
How do I bond?
Where are my commitments made?  to whom?  when?  why?  how?
What is my Yesod, Foundation for creativity, bonding, relationships,
significant undertakings, active innovation, change, accountability and reliability?

-  Joy Krauthammer

Reb Zalman, z"l, died July 3, 2014, passing over his great soul to greater heights and closer to G*d.
May Reb Zalman have a powerful aliyah and greet his many friends and teachers.
I learned so much from you being in your presence for 24 years, on Simchat Torah, High Holidays, Shavuot, and at Elat Chayyin and Kallah.
I am grateful.
You taught us to be all we can be in the Light of the Holy One.
In the Shema, you taught us to substitute "Israel" for our own name. LISTEN...
With this, my name, I mamash in Yesod, bond in a personal more meaningful way.
Thank you Reb Zalman. You Are A BlesSing

Since the early morning sunrise clouds, I waited all day for rain
until late afternoon, and then in the drizzle-- the Rainbow!
In her fullness, she only lasted for seconds.

I include this rainbow in the park photo because I was 'chasing' the rainbow.
As if my 'covenant' with G*d was the rainbow.
I drove all over looking, beginning in Porter Ranch, for a better place to be with the rainbow.
With the sun setting, after a few more stops, I drove to a more open space, parked and ran into the park.
I should 'chase' my Sephirot / attributes as well as I chase rainbows.  - Joy

A rainbow is a reminder of the covenant that G*d made with Noah, his descendants, and all living creatures.  Genesis 9:13
Seeing a rainbow in the sky, we recite the following blessing:
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה' אֶלוֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם זוֹכֵר הַבְּרִית וְנֶאֱמָן בִּבְרִיתוֹ וְקַיָם בְּמַאֲמָרוֹ

Hebrew transliteration of BlesSing for a rainbow:

Barukh Ata Adonai, Elokeynu Melekh ha'Olam
zo'khair ha'brit, v'ne'eman biv'rito v'kayam b'ma'amaro.
'Praised are you, G*d, ruler of the world, who remembers the covenant,
is faithful to the covenant and keeps promises.'
or

'Holy One of blesSing, Your Presence fills creation,
You remember Your covenant with all that You created.'

In Volume 5 of the Pritzker Edition of the Zohar, on pages 32-33, we find the following story:
The old man opened, saying, "Moses entered within the cloud and went up the mountain (Exodus 24:18). What is this cloud? Well, the same of which is written My bow I have set in the cloud (Genesis 9:13). We have learned that the rainbow removed its garments and gave them to Moses. In that garment he ascended; from within it he saw what he saw, delighting in all. Until here."
The Companions came and fell down before him, and weeping they said, "If we have come into the world just to hear these words from your mouth, it is enough for us!"
Daniel Matt offers the following explanation of these verses:
The old man equates this cloud Sinai with an earlier cloud from the days of Noah. After the Flood, God displayed a rainbow in the clouds as a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth, guaranteeing that life would never again be annihilated. See Genesis 9:12-15.
In Exodus the cloud signifies the Divine Presence. Here, it enwraps Shekhinah, who is Herself symbolized by the rainbow. This symbolism derives from Ezekiel, who campares the Divine Flory to the appearance of the bow in the cloud on a rainy day (Ezekiel 1:28). In Kabbalah the rainbow of Shekhinah displays the colors of the Sephirot. The old man teaches that she removed her garment of cloud and gave it to Moses. Shielded by this cloud, Moses ascended Mount Sinai and encountered the beyond.

"Rainbow Day— the 42nd day of the Omer (מ״ב בעומר) is the 27th of Iyyar (“the 27th day of the second month” in Genesis 8:14), when the animals, along with Noaḥ’s family, left the ark, and the rainbow (keshet) appeared as a sign of covenant. This should be a time of celebration. According to the kabbalistic counting of the Omer, Rainbow Day is also the day of Malkhut in Yesod, a unity of masculine and feminine that represents a milestone on the way to the revelation of Shavuot. For us, it can represent a chance to commit ourselves to the rainbow covenant, to turn from actions that destroy the earth, to turn our lives away from unraveling earth’s climate and the web of life, from diminishing earth’s abundance.”

May the refinement work of cosmic cleansing that I do on myself during the 49 days of Kabbalistically Counting the Sephirat HaOmer help me to mamash/truly be who I am, and need to become. I need to delete klipot/husks (negative influences) and again ready myself for Shavuot by strengthening, elevating and perfecting my midot/character traits.

Every Omer Counting day I especially think about my attributes in 'Serving G*d' and spontaneously do divine Avodah with Kavanah in Asiyah / World of physical body and doing.

For my Serve G*d With Joy clock and Omer calendar, I think about Omer day 42, Malchut sh b'Yesod.

All Tree of Life Sephirotic energies flow through me into deepest Sephirah Malchut, and the radiance of Shechinah inspires and allows me with my deeply rooted, personal and unique creative contributions to mamash reveal inner JOY, as I connect and bond in Sephirah Yesod with those whom I share myself, while serving the Holy One. "Ivdu Et Hashem B'Simcha" - Psalm 100:2.

Doing Bikkur Cholim, and mitzvot each day in Chesed, Tiferet and Netzach, are ways I serve the Holy One with Joy.
In Hod, I serve "G*d With Joy" as temple musician with timbrel in hand.
Joyously teaching chevre about Sephirat HaOmer is another way I love to serve G*d.
I must use Gevurah in all I want to share.

Serve G*d With Joy Clock and Omer Calendar

Many years ago in Pico-Robertson, the Roth's Bookstore owner gave to me the non-working old worn wood clock, and seeing potential and in Hiddur Mitzvah, I renewed and transformed the clock that I'd rescued from the trash.

To my shined-up wood clock filled with my soul's goal, "Serve G*d With Joy", I added Miriam HaNeviah's timbrel (as I am a ritual percussionist), and the wood Omer Counter with the inner paper scroll, that I purchased in Mea She'arim, Jerusalem
~
Each week I would drive to Roth's bookstore in Los Angeles, for classes with wonderful rabbis. This reformed clock reminds me to "Serve G*d With Joy".

Each night for a couple decades (until I was a full-time Caregiver Angel Warrior), I was driving to LA an hour or more each way for spiritual classes all over town. Now I'm older, traffic creeps too slowly on the "worst" freeway in America--2 to 0 mph at times, and gas prices are very high for my purple truck; $20 for gas and 2 1/2 - 3 hours is a lot of spent resources for a one hour class. Couple years ago I took a semester's Talmud class at AJR and it was two hours every single Monday morning to reach LA, driving from 7-9 AM. Before class I was always on time for the blesSing to davven with the rabbinic students!  Now I am grateful for all the mamash great Jewish teachings 24/7 on the web.

Count each day, make each day count, and  "Teach us to treasure each day."  - Psalm 90.

PS
* With the future Happy Minyan in Pico-Robertson, at Torah when Reb Shlomo Carlebach, z"l, added "Tzohara" to my name (thus Gila Rena Tzohara / double Joy and Light), Reb Shlomo said I have a million reasons to cry, and all I show is my joy.

In addition to buying books at Roth's, since at least 1980, I was filling my immense Judaic library from House of David in North Hollywood, where mamash, I received personal attention. David's son Philip knew before I knew, what treasure I would still cherish today.

Sephirat HaOmer Malchut sh b’Yesod, 42nd day.

In the fullness of Omer’s 6th week, Day 42, as the Sago Palm fronds unfurl following Yesod’s gestation and birth, I can feel the joy of Malchut, Shechina/Feminine Divine Presence resting upon me and on the long green fronds as tight curls begin to open and spread and stretch, their arms bestowing upon us their expressive bounteous beauty, communicating their delight, and I witness this annual stage of life.

This may be how I stretch my arm and begin playing my percussion cymbal after I have lovingly removed it from silent hibernation’s inactivity. Its roundness resembles the tight roundness of new curls.  Do you know that this is the creation of new fronds?! Don't they look like carved instruments?!  My self-expression with Malchut as garment covering my soul conveys to chevre joyful prayer as it unfurls in rings of reverberating sound, sending out vibes of connecting joy.  Drums have been a creative Yesod, foundation for my life, and I’ve honored the vision I was blessed to receive decades ago for this expression. As Shavuot nears in a week, the sounds (Ex. 20:15) for me could have been sounds of thunderous cymbal.  The cymbal is a bissel louder than what Miriam HaNeviah played earlier at the crossing of the Sea. Hmm, Maybe G*d played cymbals.

Counting the Omer brings me joy as does
creating word puzzle art,
another passion I have during Omer season.

~

In Yesod I love sharing LIFE with others.
I meet life in Malchut, a vessel holding all the Sephirot, place where Shechinah meets us.
The art words I wrote in my favorite colors represent aspects of life where I am passionate.
You are invited to join me there.

What does Malchut sh b'Yesod mean to you?

Yesod:
foundation, bonding, relationship, creativity, conducting, transmitting, family, lineage, ancestors.

Malchut:
Shechinah, indwelling Feminine Presence, grounding, leadership, sovereignty, Shabbat.

We travel on to examine all the Sephirot within Malchut, our last week of Omer Counting.
