Chesed sh b'Tiferet - day 15, two weeks and 1 day of the Omer

Feeling Chesed sh b’Tiferet, I think about how hours ago I stood in shul moving over in Chesed/lovingkindness to my friends to stand by them in Tiferet/compassion– friends who were in current deep mourning and saying Kaddish over the recent loss of their loved ones, z”l.  Same spiritual friends were surely mamash present for me when I lost my husband a decade ago, z"l. (Mourning is a lonesome journey, even when friends are present.) 

Concentrating on my Tiferet heart sharing with friends, my hands touching them, momentarily I forgot to say names for Kaddish of my own recently departed loved ones, z"l.

In Chesed/kindness, from the bima, my rabbi reminded me of my own needs to harmonize in Tiferet/truth and balance. It was also my father’s, z”l, Yahrzeit. In love I recall Yosef Natan ben Hyman and on Mother’s Day today, recall my mother, Leba bat Avram haKohen v’Etel. Today on FaceBook I shared a painting that Mom created probably 50 years ago, just before she died.

Today I sent names of loved ones, z”l, to family so that others can say Kaddish for family.  In Memory Of greater family members and for the living, I’ve spent years creating a Chesed and Tiferet filled site with decades of much lovingly collected information and photos for our Family Tree.

How does this mindful work I do with permutations of Sephirot affect the refinement of my Neshamah? I need to dig deeper and see where I must improve. On Tashlich I always run out of crumbs...

And I learned again early today from my Breslovcampus.org on-line teacher* that the "inner work I do has effect on outer world for all Jewish people. That my Mitzvot, the positive expressions of my Midot/personality traits, are for the collective spiritual health of all." Decades ago I learned in Tanya the corollary, that if my actions were negative, I bought down Hashem, and the possibility of that thought upset me.

World Water Day Healing

May the refinement work of cosmic cleansing that I do on myself during the 49 days of Kabbalistically Counting the Sephirat HaOmer help me to mamash/truly be who I am, and need to become. I need to delete klipot/husks (negative influences) and again ready myself for Shavuot by strengthening, elevating and perfecting my midot/character traits.

GEVURAH sh b' TIFERET 

Discipline and Restriction in Compassion, Truth, Love

Kabbalistic Sephirat Counting of the Omer day 16,

which is two weeks and two days of the Omer.

day 2 of week 3.

I think of dear “old and sick” Friend (as she calls herself) with discipline and limitation of Gevurah, as 86 year old Friend has specific expressed needs and desires as she recovers from CA surgery. (She is moving away from home to be cared for). Yes, I wanted to be present again for Friend in hospital following this big surgery so she feels she is not alone (having no family), but she did not want visitors in her current state. 

Friend wasn’t picking up phone because it was out of hospital bed reach with her moving difficulty, so in Tiferet/compassion I called nurse’s station and sent messages of love for them to deliver on rounds. (Nurses station even called me looking for Friend’s needed and missing info.) Withholding phone calls to Friend is sad for me, and I’ve continued to buy snail mail stamps for pretty purchased cards and I hand-wrote Get Well messages. Respecting the needs of Friend, With Tiferet/love I’ve used Gevurah in not calling while Friend is in rehabilitation. In Tiferet with Gevurah and with permission of Friend, I send fast and easy e-mails to her elderly friend in Israel updating situation. At Friend’s request and when necessary, I notified all important others of her condition. 

For last few years this Friend and I have lunch time together each week at our favorite restaurants. We’ve been friends for decades and I care about her spirit, mind, heart and body. During this time I use extra discipline in my communications with her.

I think of another friend who is blind and deaf and most times is able to use her recent cochlear implant for hearing if batteries are working... We’ve been close for a couple decades. 

After reading spiritual teachings daily to dear friend my age for over half a year, some months ago I wasn’t able to continue the reading over phone. (Local Gas Leak Blowout stole my lungs.) Although in great Tiferet/compassion, I had to explain that our daily call needed to be reduced and finally postponed, as If I’m on sabbatical. This Gevurahdic necessary change has been difficult to accept in Tiferet for both of us, but limitation of routine was necessary.

Another dear friend, 93, and living only a few blocks away, requested that I come over at night to help her with necessary medical need so she stays healthy and for years in Tiferet I continue help my friend. That’s easy for me as I don’t otherwise go out at night, and if I do, planned in Gevurah, I visit her earlier or later in evening. In Tiferet/compassion and friendship I may visit for up to two hours at end of my day that begins before sunrise. This friend and her family are grateful for our mutual friendship. My other friends know my friend as 'Edith', the gardener and my swim life-guard. I use Edith and her garden and pool as my model for many photo-theme challenges. Love my friend Edith. If you are reading this you’ve seen many of her Tiferet-filled flowers or cat photos on my FB or in my web sites. Edith sees them also as she is an avid computer user! With her I watch movies of her great-great grand twins!

I love Day 17. In Gematria 17 = 1 + 7 = 8.
Eight representing spirituality, as in the celebrations of Brit covenant, and G*d's miracles/nesim of Chanukah and Exodus.

Garden Harmony

I can be in Tiferet if my answers are YES to my following questions:

Can I have simple truth in Tiferet: harmony, balance and beauty in my life and environment, as flowers have in my garden or their pot or pond or that turtles have co-existing in relationship with lilies or ducks in their water environment?  
Can my heart/Lev open to others as my heart does when I enjoy a fragrant flower or peaceful turtle? 
Can I express the beauty and glory of my surroundings and share that with others?  
In harmony, can I be both in ecstatic joy or quiet meditation?  
In Tiferet, can I balance elements and actions between Chesed's giving in kindness and Gevurah's holding back from giving too much in any medium-- emotional support, or gifts in hand?  
Can I serve humanity with joy and tranquility, and be in harmony with the Holy One?

May we be blessed to contain all the life force gifted to us, flowing in a shefa/abunDance received from light of higher Sephirot-- and unfurl, unfold curl, each layer of our being in all its Beauty and Truth, and share our gifts.

Today feeling Malchut sh b’Tiferet, and the energies flowing through all the Sephirot, I wrote loving and caring condolence notes hoping they boost the emotional strength of loved ones. Almost Shloshim for a cousin, and people sometimes already begin to forget the ‘survivors', especially if they had been caregivers. Sometimes even then during illness, Bikur Cholim is not given to the caregiver but yes, thankfully to the person in need of healing. May healing happen with Malchut sh b’Tiferet in much compassion and love with dignity for ‘survivor'.
